This piece comes across as extremely negative in tone. Both the intro and conclusion focus on how small businesses have limited resources and how overwhelmed they feel. What a great way to make a small business owner just give up before they get to the useful parts. Both intro and conclusion could be reframed to convey that there is untapped opportunity here. Furthermore, it is something of a greenfield since most small businesses do not have a well-develeped web presence. Thus, if they put in some time and effort, they can be the only small business in their niche that anyone can find online. The example you use for your case study is also off putting. Even very talented people suffer from self doubt. It makes it feel like you can only help me if I am totally awesome. What if I feel very ordinary?
However, some of the world's top-earning blogs gross millions of dollars per month on autopilot. It's a great source of passive income and if you know what you're doing, you could earn a substantial living from it. You don't need millions of visitors per month to rake in the cash, but you do need to connect with your audience and have clarity in your voice.

Occasionally, you’ll come across hand curated local directories. These may be specific to your location; obviously, the links to the local area are more often than not picked up up by the search engines as relevant to your listing and give a small amount of lift. Have a read through the site content first - if it’s overloaded with advertising and worthless content, avoid it.
Website:  Websites are a great way to establish your brand identity. They can use text, images, audio, and video elements to convey the company's message, as well as inform existing and potential customers of the features and benefits of the company's products or services. The website may or may not include the ability to capture leads from potential customers or directly sell a product or service online.
Developing a marketing strategy is incredibly important in avoiding wasted time/money exploring channels that are not necessarily the most effective.  However, a website that functions properly, has information that is easily digestible by the consumer, is of genuine use, and also converts users into customers is the first step.  Once you have covered this off, you can then move onto the marketing.  Do it the other way around and you will find yourself spending a lot of money with few returns...

What’s the point of even having a website if it doesn’t look nice on every device? 61% of users are unlikely to return to a mobile site they had trouble accessing. If your site is not responsive, those potential customers will find another business. More and more people are making purchases through mobile devices so make sure that your website is mobile friendly.

Online marketing is cost-effective, it’s easier to reach your audience and you know exactly who you’re reaching. You have the ability to optimize campaigns and websites if they are not performing the way you want them to. You can clearly see how many people have opened your emails and clicked a link. You can even target who you want to when you want to. Stop wasting time and money on traditional marketing and go digital!
Great post Morgan! Establishing a definitive brand is a huge part of proper marketing and overall client outreach. A good way for small businesses (who already have the fundamentals in place) is to ask existing customers what lasting impression they have--whether it's a small mom-and-pop shop or a more cutting-edge company. Once you have a clear vision which direction you want to move in and how you want to personify your business, the marketing strategy will be much easier to develop. Also, you have to be patient as it does take time for a brand to reach the masses. After all, Apple didn't become a success overnight :) ~Vishal

An SEO technique is considered white hat if it conforms to the search engines' guidelines and involves no deception. As the search engine guidelines[18][19][51] are not written as a series of rules or commandments, this is an important distinction to note. White hat SEO is not just about following guidelines, but is about ensuring that the content a search engine indexes and subsequently ranks is the same content a user will see. White hat advice is generally summed up as creating content for users, not for search engines, and then making that content easily accessible to the online "spider" algorithms, rather than attempting to trick the algorithm from its intended purpose. White hat SEO is in many ways similar to web development that promotes accessibility,[52] although the two are not identical.
The mobile SERPs are filled with carousels, which makes sense… Carousels provide a slick way to pack more listings into a single search result. One type of carousel that has taken off recently is the video carousel. They started booming in the SERPs in mid-2018 and are present for many queries now (some would argue they are present for too many queries, but that’s for another post).

  7. Write compelling copy for those key pages of the site according to your selected keywords and key phrases as well as your target market's needs, and make certain its copy the search engines like Google can "see." This can be a crucial aspect of getting an effective website. The search engines like Google have to read keyword-wealthy copy in your pages to allow them to learn how to classify your website. This copy should not be hidden in graphics or hidden in Expensive. Write your copy according to your best keywords and key phrases whilst making a psychological reference to your website customer. Realize that there's no magical quantity of words per page or quantity of occasions to apply your phrases inside your copy. The key factor is by using your keywords and key phrases only where and when it seems sensible to do this for that real people reading through your website. Simply adhering keywords and key phrases towards the top of the page for no reason is not likely to work, also it just looks silly.
In addition, providing quality content through online forums is another successful Internet Marketing strategy since it extends the company’s brand to all the readers of the website. Other strategies, such as sending sales copies via email, work just as well to reach new and existing customers. The “call-to-action” makes people want to read a website, click a link or buy almost anything the company offers for sale.

The leading search engines, such as Google, Bing and Yahoo!, use crawlers to find pages for their algorithmic search results. Pages that are linked from other search engine indexed pages do not need to be submitted because they are found automatically. The Yahoo! Directory and DMOZ, two major directories which closed in 2014 and 2017 respectively, both required manual submission and human editorial review.[39] Google offers Google Search Console, for which an XML Sitemap feed can be created and submitted for free to ensure that all pages are found, especially pages that are not discoverable by automatically following links[40] in addition to their URL submission console.[41] Yahoo! formerly operated a paid submission service that guaranteed crawling for a cost per click;[42] however, this practice was discontinued in 2009.
